Mark Zavitz, CFP®, CLU, B.A.

Financial Planner & Partner

A graduate of McMaster University, Mark has also earned both the Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Financial Planner designations. His thriving career in the life insurance / financial services industry began in 1984.

Mark's expertise ranges from individual to corporate financial planning to estate planning. His honesty and easy-going nature have been instrumental in his success.

Mark is a former director of the St. Catharines Hospital Foundation and shows dedication to his community by supporting organizations such as Gillian’s Place, Community Care and Niagara Nutrition Partners.

Mark has been married to his wife Sue for over 30 years and is the proud father of his son Spencer and daughter Taylor. In 2021, Mark and Sue welcomed their first grandson Theo.

Greg Sykora, CFP®, CIWM, FCSI®, CIM®

Financial Planner & Partner

A graduate of Brock University, Greg is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Investment Manager, Certified International Wealth Manager and one of 5000 Fellows of the Canadian Securities Institute in Canada. Greg joined Mark as a significant Partner November 1st, 2021, and has been working as an industry professional since 2009.

Greg’s expertise ranges from portfolio construction to personal financial planning and estate planning. Prior to joining Zavitz and Sykora Financial Strategies, Greg was a Vice President of Mackenzie Investment’s distribution team, having won several professional accolades for his success in the role.

Greg is happily married to his wife Amanda and is a proud father to his son Preston. While Greg grew up in the Niagara region, he currently resides with his family in Burlington.

Paul Scott, GBA, RPA, CEBS

Employee Benefits Specialist

Paul has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and specializes in group benefits as well as corporate health, life and disability plans. He is a licensed life insurance agent and a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). He holds a certificate in Labour Management Relations from Niagara College. Paul is a past president and member of the year of the St. Catharines Business Club.

Over thirty five years of experience working with Niagara businesses has provided Paul with extensive networking skills. His "persistent but no pressure" approach has led to many employers achieving greater corporate success. He will use his experience and insight into team dynamics to solve your toughest benefit problems – to get you the results you want.

Paul is the proud father of two fine young men. During his spare time he can be found enjoying sports car racing or holding a fishing rod in his hand.

Lorraine MacNeil-Morgan, B. Comm., GBA

Group Benefits Analyst

Lorraine has enjoyed being a part of the insurance industry since 1986. During this time she has held positions in local supervision, regional management, training, consulting, sales and service.

She is a licensed life insurance agent who has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Montreal and is currently pursuing a CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) designation.

Lorraine provides service to over 60 of our corporate clients. Her responsibilities include claims experience analysis, renewal negotiation, market research, proposal requisitions and the planning/delivery of employee information meetings. Her mission: To earn long-term relationships with our clients by providing exceptional value, memorable service and expert advice.

Lorraine loves travel, reading, movies and spending quality time with her two sons.

Cathy Black

Licensed Associate

Cathy began her career in the financial services industry in 1993. She is a Business Accounting graduate of Niagara College who holds both Life Insurance and Canadian Investments Funds licences.

Cathy provides administrative support to the team. She reviews and processes mutual fund transaction requests as well as life insurance requests. Cathy is instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with fund company partners and external providers.

With extensive computer knowledge, Cathy is efficient and goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that each client and his/her account receives the highest level of attention and care.

Cathy enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Cierra and Miley. Cathy has a passion for fitness and is dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Melanie Anderson

Reception / Administrative Assistant

Since joining the team in 2011, Melanie is most often the first person you encounter when contacting or visiting the office. Her successful career in the Customer Service industry contributes significantly to her effectiveness as "Director of First Impressions". She offers our clients personalized service, and maintains strong relationships with our fund company partners.

Melanie provides support to all of our team members, from ordering supplies to processing investment fund transactions, and is on her way to becoming a Licensed Assistant. Her welcoming demeanor, attention to detail and ability to wear multiple hats have established her as a valuable asset.

Melanie is the proud mother of two handsome sons, who appreciate her almost as much as we do.
